A four-person unhitched chair train to Palenica is one of undoubted attractions of Szczawnica, situated in the city centre, near a bus terminal, downward slope from the Główny street. After only 3 minutes of the ride on the luxurious train it is possible to be on a Palenica peak (722 m u. v. flat) where from the most beautiful views on the Pieniny Mountains are stretching with Three Crowns and Sokolica, and at the good weather we can see the Tatra mountains. Palenica constitutes the great sortie point for walks of pedestrians, from here outlined mountain routes are leading the m aka for the highest peak of the – Pieniny Mountains High, and to Szczawnica Niżnia on Sokolice and Three Crowns.

From the spring to later of autumn by the upper station of railways is functioning very much popular both amongst children as well as adults, gravitational slide, where on special it is possible to slate the small pushcart with banked, full of bends chute, all over what to be back at the top, leaving on small pushcart pinned up to the ski lift.

Palenica is a wonderful place for spending the free time on family picnics.

In winter all lovers of skiing are welcome on Palenica. There are slopes of a different level of difficulty, from the glades for the beginners on the slopes of Szafranówka with three T-bar lifts, through a snowboard gutter to the runs for advanced skiers Palenica I and a new so called "Family Trail" Palenica II.

With winter we are inviting on Palenica of all enthusiasts of the skiing. There slopes are about the different degree of advance, from glades for beginners on slopes Szafranówki together with three drags lift, through the snowboard gutter, until the route for advanced Palenica skiers and and new, lighted so-called "family route" Palenica II. All routes are artificially snow - covered and borne by machines for the cultivation of the snow.

For skiing amateurs which managed to enjoy superb views stretching out from the Palenicy peak PKL is making available three c 300 flat ski lifts. Running along them artificially snow - covered route on „Szafranówka” about the bottom stair of the problem, will be a perfect place for beginning the adventure with skis.
